Hidden Treasure at Tomini Bay, Bongo Village

Bongo is a village that turned from a common village into a hidden treasure in Tomini Bay. Since the asphalt road has been repaired, people can easily access this village and enjoy its wonderful scenery. This village also offers its unique culture. Every year, the local people parade around the village carrying Kolombengi cake while sharing it to anyone they meet. We can also feel the true refreshing feelings far from the busy and tiring city atmosphere. In here, there’s a small cottage with a swimming pool in which children can enjoy at no cost together with the friendly Bongo’s villagers. Untouched by the concrete and steel, Bongo village still holds most of its nature intact and you can see fossil directly which age to millions of years ago.

At first, this place used to be a common village in which the vast majority of the villagers’ job was fisherman. However, it is now like born as a new village. The most interesting thing is that even with the barren limestone hill, the river flows without stopping even at the peak of dry season. It is truly a hidden treasure in Tomini Bay.
